YOU SAID – WE DID
Action against set priorities

What we have been doing to resolve community issues

The Coningsby/Tattershall Panel met on the 9th March 2011 and decided that the priority for the next period would be:

ASB on Clinton Park

The next meeting is set to take place on Wed 11th May 2011 at the Allan Barker Pavilion at 19:30 hours.

The Woodhall Spa Panel met on the 6th January and decided no priorities would be set.

The Next meeting will take place at The Woodhall Spa Hotel on April 5th 2011.

At both meetings there will be a 15-minute public forum prior to the Panel Meeting taking place.

These will begin at 19:15.

As no priorities have been in place for several months the main issue we have been tackling is anti-social behaviour in our neighbourhoods.

As we reported in the last newsletter, there had been a larger than ordinary amount of ASB in our communities over the new year period.

The Beat Team are committed to tackling this behaviour head on at the earliest opportunity so that quality of life is restored.

This is how your Policing Team tackled ASB in your communities over the period 06/01/11-09/03/2011

Incidents accounting to ASB = 65

These include: Inconsiderate Behaviour, Vehicle Nuisance, Swearing and Shouting, Throwing Things, Drunken Behaviour and incidents of Criminal Damage

Unacceptable Behaviour Warning Letters served = 43, with 2 persons entering the Acceptable Behaviour Contract stage allowing conditions to be placed upon them such as curfews and whom they can associate with.

Section 59 warnings for anti-social use of motor vehicle = 1

Section 59 seizures for secondary offence = 1

Report report report

It is crucial that ALL incidents are reported in order that we can deal effectively and efficiently. What you report may be the missing piece of a jigsaw puzzle and it helps us know EXACTLY what is happening in your neighbourhoods.

You do not have to leave a name, although this helps, and you can stress at the time you call it in, that you DO NOT want an officer to visit.

Anti-social behaviour is any aggressive, intimidating or destructive activity that damages or destroys another person’s quality of life.

The term ‘anti-social behaviour’ includes a variety of behaviour covering a whole range of selfish and unacceptable activity that can blight the quality of community life.

Other terms such as ‘nuisance’, ‘neighbour disputes’ and ‘disorder’ are used to describe some of this behaviour.

Neighbourhood Policing teams work alongside various agencies including East Lindsey District Council and social housing agencies to effectively deal with persons engaging in anti-social behaviour. This can include effecting acceptable behaviour contracts or even securing an eviction notice for those engaging in such behaviour.
