BARK John William. 

Born New Bolingbroke, enlisted Lincoln, living at Tattershall.  118255, Private, 1st/5th Battalion, Sherwood Foresters.  Killed in action 17th October 1918, age 19.  Son of John T and Mary Bark of Martin Dales; native of Tattershall.  Buried Busigny Communal Cemetery Extension, France.

CASTLEDINE David. 

Born Tattershall, enlisted Spilsby, living at Tattershall.  12923, Private, 7th Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment.  Died of wounds 10th August 1916, age 19.  Son of Mr and Mrs W. Castledine of School Lane, Tattershall.  Buried Heilly Station Cemetery, Mericourt L’Abbe, France.

CLARK Joseph. 

Born Tattershall, enlisted Lincoln, living at Tattershall.  7829, Private, 1st Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment.  Killed in action 15th September 1914.  Buried Vailly British Cemetery, France.

CLIFTON Lionel. 

Born Tattershall, enlisted Lincoln, living at Coningsby.  B/202108, Corporal, 16th Battalion, The Rifle Brigade.  Killed in action 21st March 1918.  No Known grave, remembered on the Pozieres Memorial, Somme, France.

CROFT Hugh. 

Born Woodhall Spa, enlisted Horncastle, living at Tattershall.  142012, Private, 6th Coy, Machine Gun Corps, formerly 4724, Durham Light Infantry.  Killed in action 21st March 1918 age 24.  Son of James and Janet Croft of Green Lane, Woodhall Spa.  No known grave, remembered on the Arras Memorial, France.

GIBSON Robert.

RMB/1304, Musician, Royal Marine Band, HMS Queen Mary.  Killed in action 31st May 1916, age 24.  Only son of Charlotte Gibson of Tattershall; and the late Robert Gibson.  No known grave, remembered on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial.

HACKNEY Sydney Thomas. 

Born Cherry Willingham, enlisted Lincoln.  7871, Private, 2nd Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment.  Killed in action 25th September 1915, age 25.   Son of Marion Faulkner (formerly Hackney) of 14 Hungate Lane, Lincoln, and the late Thomas; husband of Florence Parker (formerly Hackney).  No known grave, remembered on the Ploegsteert Memorial to the Missing, Belgium.

POTTERTON (Walter) Richard.

WR/272617, 3rd Railway Company, Royal Engineers.  Died on illness, 2nd March 1919, age 30.  Son of Richard and Jane Potterton of Tattershall.  Buried Les Baraques Military Cemetery, Sangatte, France.

SHORT John. 

Born Tattershall, enlisted Luton, living at South Tottenham, Middlesex. 2850, Private, (Lance Corporal on CWGC Register) A Coy., 1st/4th Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment.  Killed in action 2nd September 1915, age 20.  Son of John and Mary Ann Short of Tattershall.  Buried in Railway Dugouts Burial Ground, Ypres, Belgium.

SILMAN Charles (Frederick).

Born Lincoln, enlisted Lincoln, living at Tattershall.  14546, Private, 7th Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment.  Killed in action 16th November 1915.  Remembered on Menin Road North Special Memorial, Menin Road South Cemetery, Ypres, Belgium.

TOYNE Fred. 

Enlisted Sleaford, living at Tattershall. 40766, Private, 6th Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment.  Died of wounds 18th August 1917, age 20.  Son of James and Ellen Toyne of High Street, Tattershall.   No known grave, remembered on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium.

WRIGHT Charles Joseph. 

Born Tattershall, enlisted Lincoln, living at Dogdyke.  14547, Private, 7th Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment.  Died of illness, 24th August 1915, age 20.  Son of Joseph and Mary Ann Wright of Tattershall Engine, Dogdyke.  Native of Tattershall.  Buried in Etaples Military Cemetery, France.

WRIGHT Walter. 

Born Tattershall, enlisted Grove Park, Kent.  G/96677, Private, 19th Battalion, Middlesex Regiment.  Formerly 300600, Royal Army Service Corps.  Killed in action 1st September 1918, age 19.  Son of Joseph and Mary Ann Wright of Tattershall Engine, Dogdyke.  Buried in Peronne Communal Cemetery Extension, Peronne, France.

Born Tattershall, enlisted Horncastle, living at Coningsby. 19916, Private, 1st Battalion Dorsetshire Regiment.  Formerly 019165, Royal Army Ordnance Corps.  Died of wounds, 30th April 1918, age 23. Son of Mr and Mrs LG Sellars of Tattershall Thorpe. Buried St. Sever Cemetery Extension, Rouen, France.

TOYNE Albert.

Born Tattershall, enlisted Horncastle, living at Kirkby on Bain. 241658, Private, 5th Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment.  Killed in action 19th June 1917, age 26.  Son of Mrs F Toyne of Tattershall Thorpe.  Buried Loos British Cemetery, Loos, France.

BOSWORTH (Joseph) Henry. 

Born Tattershall Bridge, enlisted Lincoln, living at Coningsby.  702205, Private, 2/23rd Battalion, County of London Regiment, Egyptian Expeditionary Force.  Formerly 70256, Royal Army Medical Corps.  Died of wounds 2nd December 1917, age 21.  Son of John Thomas and Mahala Bosworth of Kirkby Lane, Coningsby.  No know grave, remembered on the Port Said War Memorial, Egypt.

4804945, Lance Corporal, 6th Battalion, Lincolnshire regiment.  Died 22nd April 1943.  Son of Frederic K and Mary Johnson; husband of Eva Audrey Johnson.  Buried Medjez-el-Bab War Cemetery, Tunisia.

BARNSDALE Percy C.

(On memorial); Charles Precy (on the CWGC database).  4807430, Private, 1st Battalion, West Yorkshire Regiment.  Died 12th March 1944, age 31.  Son of Mr and Mrs Arthur Barnsdale; Husband of N Barnsdale of Tattershall Thorpe.  No known grave, remembered on the Rangoon memorial, Burma (now Myanmar).

AVISON Leslie. 

4884411, Corporal, 4th Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment.  Died 4th October 1944, age 26.  Son of John and Lucy Avison of Tattershall Thorpe.  Buried Leopoldburgh War Cemetery, Belgium.

Born Tatters(h)all, Lincoln, enlisted Doncaster.  29367, Private 2nd Battalion, Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry.  Die do wounds (home) 29th September 1918, age 29.  Son of Mrs Lucy Ellen Brooks of Cardiff Villa, Billinghay.  Buried Doncaster Old Road Cemetery, Yorkshire.

INGAMELLS Benjamin Dion. 

Born Tattershall, enlisted Billinghay. 133436, Gunner, ‘M’ Anti-aircraft Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery.  Died of Wounds 8th September, 1918, age 38.  Husband of Elizabeth Ingamells of Timberland. Buried Vaulx Hill Cemetery France.

MAPLETHORPE George. 

Born Tattershall Bridge, enlisted Sleaford, living at Tattershall Bridge.  15306, Private, 1st battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment.  Killed in action 1st July 1916.  No known grave, remembered on the Theipval Memorial, Somme, France.

NIX Joseph. 

Born Tattershall, enlisted Sleaford, living at Threekingham.  28390, Private 7th Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment.  Died of wounds 28th May 1918, age 35.  Son of Frederick Nix of Threekingham, Folkingham, Lincs.  Buried Bagneaux British Cemetery, Gezaincourt, France.

RAMM  John Twell. 

Born Boston, enlisted Boston, living at Tattershall.  43674, Private, 1st/6th Battalion, South Staffordshire regiment.  Killed in action 29th September 1918, age 19. Son of Mr and Mrs Ramm of 74, King Street, Boston.  Buried Bellicourt British Cemetery, France.

Enlisted Lincoln, living at Tattershall.  27171, Private, C Coy., 2nd Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment.  Killed in action 5th April 1918,age 35.  Husband of Lydia Ann Newton (formerly Sutton) of Bridge House, Tattershall Bridge.  No known grave, remembered on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium.
