Tattershall with Thorpe Parish Council

Welcome to the latest edition of the Tattershall with Thorpe parish Council Newsletter, we hope you find this summary of parish council business useful and interesting.

 Parish Office:

The Parish Office is situated next to the library on the Gartree Community School site.  The new opening hours are Tuesday and Wednesday 9.30am–12.30pm and Friday 9.30am-12.30pm.  Flag Flying at Tattershall:

Flag flying continues to be very popular and is a great way to help to raise funds for local charities.  In November we were able to make a donation of £100 to Dogdyke Pumping Station.  Keep flying the flag and helping the community at the same time.

 Parish Plan:

The Action Plan has been finalised to bring it up to date.  The main objectives are the same as stated in the copy of the plan that was given to each Parish Councillor when we submitted it to the Council at a special meeting in September 2009.  Janet Clark of ‘Community Links’ has now circulated a copy to ELDC and LCC.  We now have to allow 4 weeks for their comments.  The rest of the Parish Plan is virtually ready for the printers, once Richard Sivill has put his photographs on disc for us and cllr Pick has written the forward.  We hope to have the whole thing completed early in the New Year when we will arrange a special evening for its launch.  We hope that all members of the Parish Council will attend along with other organisations and associations with an interest in Tattershall and Tattershall Thorpe.  So far, the process has taken two years, we have had many problems the main one being a lack of community spirit, but we are getting there and many of the projects on our action plan could be obtainable if we all pull together.  Cllr Barrie Haynes (Chairman, Parish Plan Steering Group)

 Vacancy for Parish Councillor:

We currently have a vacancy for a parish councillor and anyone who is over 21 and interested should write to the parish council via the clerk at the office (address overleaf).  All applicants will be considered at the February 2010 meeting.

 Youth Achievement Award:

This is to be a joint venture with Coningsby Town Council and there will be two age groups – Primary and Secondary – anyone interested should make contact with the clerk at Tattershall or Coningsby for further information.  The presentations will take place during the spring/summer.

 Manning Trophy:

Information on the Manning Trophy is available from the parish office and the award is given at the Annual Dinner, which will be on 30^th April 2010.

 Best Kept Village/Garden:

This annual competition takes place over the spring/summer months and further information is available from the Parish Clerk or any parish Councillor together with categories and previous winners.
