Tattershall with Thorpe Parish Council

The Parish Council have been very busy as you will see from the following details.  If you would like to have your say about any of this information, do please pop into the Parish Office where you will receive a warm welcome.

 Parish Office:

The Parish Office is situated next to the library on the Gartree Community School site.  The opening hours are Tuesday and Wednesday 9.00am–12.00pm and Thursday 8.30am-11.30am. Mrs Jean Girling, Parish Clerk, can be contacted on 01522 550347 or by e-mailing ‘tattershallthorpe@tiscali.co.uk’.

Annual Dinner:

The annual dinner in May was a huge success and a ‘sell out’.  The guest speaker was Judy Theobald, well known Radio Lincs presenter, who gave an extremely entertaining talk on the subject of ‘life and other problems!’

Annual Accounts:

The annual accounts of the Parish Council for the Year Ended 31^st March 2008 were approved and audited by Clement Keys.

Footpath Walking:

This year saw many members of the Parish Council together with members of the public, walking all the footpaths relevant to the parish of Tattershall and Tattershall Thorpe.  This is an annual event and a report is forwarded to the Footpath Officer at Lincolnshire County Council to enable him to maintain the footpaths to a good standard.  Anyone is welcome to join in, setting off from the Market Place throughout the months of July/August, weather permitting.  A refreshment stop at local pubs is very favourable.  Keep an eye on the notice boards for details.

Flag Flying at Tattershall:

Flag flying for every occasion this year has helped to raise £200.00 for local charities, Youthworx being the latest recipient. 

Best Kept Village Competition:

Tattershall Thorpe are to be congratulated as they were ‘runners up’ in the ‘Past Winners’ Class of the competition and Tattershall received extremely favourable comments.

Annual Best Kept Garden Competition:

This year saw some wonderful displays for the annual competition, where the Rose Bowl Trophy was awarded to the winner of the ‘Standard Garden’ category, Mr and Mrs C Dodd of 7 Sleaford Road, and the ‘Barrack Trophy’ was awarded to the ‘Smaller/Container Garden’ category, Mr and Mrs G Higgins of 22 Lodge Park Homes.  Certificates were also awarded to 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd placed gardens in each category.  So come on you budding gardeners, start to prepare your gardens for next years competition.

Parish Plan:

The Steering Group continue to work on the Parish Plan for Tattershall and Tattershall Thorpe.  It is hoped that it will be completed by the Autumn.
