Tattershall with Thorpe Parish Council

The Parish Council have been very busy as you will see from the following details.  If you would like to have your say about any of this information, do please pop into the Parish Office where you will receive a warm welcome.

 Parish Office:

The Parish Office is situated next to the library on the Gartree Community School site.  The opening hours are Tuesday and Wednesday 9.00am–12.00pm and Thursday 8.30am-11.30am. Mrs Jean Girling, Parish Clerk, can be contacted on 01522 550347 or by e-mailing ‘tattershallthorpe@tiscali.co.uk’.

Flag Flying at Tattershall:

Flag flying for every occasion this year has helped to raise £200.00 for local charities, Youthworx being the latest recipient. 

Best Kept Village Competition:

Tattershall Thorpe are to be congratulated as they were ‘runners up’ in the ‘Past Winners’ Class of the competition and Tattershall received extremely favourable comments.  We have again entered both villages into the competition.  The first round of judging begins in June so if you notice anything which looks untidy, please give us a call so that we can try to remedy the problem.  Let’s hope for a really good competition this year.

Manning Trophy:

The 2009 winner of the Manning Trophy is Mr Dave Shaw, 30 Lodge Road, Tattershall for his work within the community.

Parish Plan:

A Steering Group was formed some months ago to work on a Parish Plan for Tattershall and Tattershall Thorpe.  Every household has been given a questionnaire to complete, which will enable the council to have a clear picture of how residents would like to see changes and improvements to their villages in future years.  Results of the survey are expected shortly.

Councillors:

After many years of loyal service, due to ill health, Mr H Barrack tended his resignation and he will be sorely missed.  Mr. B Haynes has filled the vacancy by co-option.

Market Place Enhancement Scheme:

A proposal to Lincolnshire County Council has been submitted to enlarge the central refuge on the A153 in addition to other safety works.  It is hoped that work will commence in the next few months.
